Marchesa inspired by India

Actress Camilla Belle heated up the red carpet at the 09 MusiCares Person of the Year tribute to Neil Diamond in a Marchesa dress. To say the creation was inpsired by India is to put it mildly as it is 100% desi right from the jewel tone of the dress to the stone work.

It's from Marchesa's Spring 08 RTW collection where the collection was but of course inspired by India! I'm sure we've got similar looking churidaars in our wardrobe the tops of which can be worn like a dress or modified to look like this Marchesa number!

Slumdog cast at 09 SAG awards

The Slumdog cast (Freida Pinto, Dev Patel and Anil Kapoor) came out dressed in their finest at the 09 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Here's a dekho, I'm ofcourse drooling over Freida's light purple gown!The minute I saw this gown knew it was a signature Marchesa which has now been confirmed by justjared who report that the gown is indeed by Marchesa, her clutch is by Roger Vivier and jewels by Martin Katz.
