Of nice lacy things

Two of my favourite looks sported by celebs at Amrita Arora and Shakeel Ladakh's wedding bash at Aurus were Katrina's stunning sari and Mehr Jessia's suit; both of which featured lace as the prime fabric. Katrina always looks fantastic in pink and this sari is no exception. I love the understated colours but rich detailing of Mehr's suit which may be a tad bit long for most people to carry off but I'm sure that's not a consideration for her with her killer supermodel genes. Wish Arjun Rampal had opted for something ethnic rather than casual jeans to complement Mehr's look.

Writer Malavika Sanghvi was spotted at the 'IBN CNN Heroes' award function totting a Bottega Veneta Carpi intreciatto which can be purchased through net-a-porter.

Brand watch:LaROK

Whilst I can't wear all their pieces I do like the brand LaROK as they are well priced (compared to most contemporary US brands) with looks that stand out. One of their latest offerings is the Diwali shorts; named as such due to the embellishments, mirror work and colour block embroidery. Available for purchase through shopbop. Expect to find something like this in the wardrobe of Bipasha Basu.

The fashionistas come together

I'm still on the edge with deciding whether I like Twinkle Khanna's contemporary take on ethnic wear. Anu Deewan seems to have borrowed her look or atleast the embroidery from the churidaar that Twinkle wore to one of the Chandni Chowk premieres. Anu's clutch is a Jimmy Choo Kase oval clutch.

In and with Manish Malhotra

Priyanka Chopra was escorted by Manish Malhotra in what else but a Manish Malhotra sari complete with his signature styled blouse and sequin work. The sari works but about time she gets a hair stylist and fix the hair asap.

Which one's the bride?

Looking at these pics anyone can easily mistake Malaika Arora Khan as the bride rather than sis Amrita due to her immensely red outfit. Whilst both sisters carry off their looks well, Amrita albeit a bit more understated of the two. Shakeel looks dapper in black and Arbaaz goes classic white which suits him well.

In Shantanu-Nikhil

The suit version of the Shantanu Nikhil lehenga that Deepika Padukone wore to the New York premiere of CC2C fares a tad bit better for me as seen on Malaika Arora Khan at Amrita Arora's mehendi function. Just not sure about Malaika's choice of Gucci-sque flats.

Amrita Arora wedding bash coverage

All of tinseltown turned up at Amrita Arora's wedding bash and I start my coverage with on and off couple Karisma and Sanjay Kapoor. Karisma's lehenga to me looks dated and straight out of one of her movies 'Deedar' from the early 90s which some of you may recall. Its ok and there isn't anything to totally love about it.On the other hand, I'm loving Sanjay's jodhpurs so for me he was definitely the better dressed of this duo. source

Jumpsuit face-off

Both Koena Mitra and Mouni Roy at the premiere of 'The Reader' donned the very much in vogue jumpsuit. Who's look do you dig? My vote goes to Mouni as the style and colour both are extremely flattering on her.

A: We all love a MISSONI

Gauri Khan opted for a Missoni kaftan style dress to attend Amrita Arora's wedding. I love the zig-zaggy signature Missoni patern and the billowy sleeves and the length. The make-up is not to my liking but I think overall this one goes in the chic files.

The lady in the background on the right is wearing Emilio Pucci. Does anyone know who that is?
