For the Chic files
I love everything about Lara Dutta's look at the GQ Man of the Year Awards that took place in Mumbai last night. The pink looks fantastic against her skin and I like how the black sash helps break the colour. Pulled back hair and stylish earrings and clutch complete her look.

Mixing it up
Abhay Deol's teaming of faded grey denims with a tuxedo jacket and a black skinny tie doesn't really work for me. He should have just gone classic with a suit pant. Not particularly liking the shoes either.

For the fugly files
Both Laila Khan and Sheetal Mafatlal earn places in the Fugly Hall of Fame with these ensembles they were sporting at the launch of the new Mumbai pub 'Tote'. Laila should have really covered up her innerwear with a shirt or something and should have given either the necklace or the belt a miss as together they are a bit much.
Sheetal too went a bit over the top with the matching python gladiators and clutch. The glads aren't nice at all so I would've just stuck to the clutch only and spent my money on better shoes. The pearl tassle necklace is just isn't required with the knotted neckline of her dress.

In Sabyasachi
How much I love Aishwarya for wearing this gorgeous Sabyasachi saree on the Oprah Winfrey show due to air soon. I love the simple bindi, the elbow length sleeves (yes I have a thing for them!) and the gorgeous saree.

Dior Ditto!
Looks like the Dior press pack is doing the rounds and close on the heels of the Twinkle-Akshay L'Officiel cover we have Shilpa Shetty as Harper Bazaar's cover girl for the October issue. Have a preference between the two covers?

Shahrukh & Kajol for Vogue India
The October issue of Vogue India is graced by Kajol and Shahrukh who also talk about their much awaited upcoming film 'My Name is Khan' in the magazine. Whilst its always exciting to see these two actors come together the cover itself is just strictly ok.

In Anupama Dayal
Designer Anupama Dayal was wearing one of her own creations from her latest collection 'Joie' from her lable Anupamaa. The theme of her collection was an "utopian valley of flowers in a smart city" and hence the floral ensemble.

An almost ditto
Both Katrina Kaif and Aarti Surendranath were spotted wearing similar asymmetrical dresses doing the rounds at Lakme Fashion Week. The dresses aren't great to start with but if I had to choose Katrina fares marginally better because of the fabric and her choice of footwear.

source & sourceFeeling Blue?
Designer to the stars Manish Malhotra gets it oh so wrong in this casual and corporate wear blue mish-mash. Usually impeccably dressed lets just blame the crazy busy-ness of Fashion Week for this debacle. The denims aren't the best fit either.

Of Statement Necklaces
Twinkle Khanna has a thing for adding a statement necklace to neutral outfits. We have seen her wear a gorgeous peacock version and a beaded number before. Here's a look at another one from her vast collection.

In Burberry Prorsum
You know you are a star when you are sitting front row at the Burberry Prorsum fashion show wearing an outfit that's just about to be sashayed down the runway. Here's Freida in all her glory wearing a gorgeous lemon dress from Burberry's latest Spring collection. She looks fantastic and I love her choice of sandals.

Dolce Gabbana spotting
Spotted Freida Pinto outside the Dolce Gabbana store in London sporting what looks like her latest purchase from the store - the Miss Gin Ruffle Bowler. I love this bag and the ruffle detail. It can be yours at a measly price of USD$2395+taxes from Bergdorf Goodman.

Vikram Phadnis: Lakme Fashion Week
I love love love everything about Vikram Phadnis's timeless, regal and oh so very Indian collection presented on Day 4 of the Lakme Fashion Week. None other than the diva herself Sushmita Sen acted as the perfect showstopper resplendant in a gold and green bridal lehenga. Drool on ladies just like me.
P.S The churidaar number in row 4 is so meeee and is on my wishlist for my sister's wedding!

The Boys strutting their stuff
The current Lakme Fashion Week has a strong focus on menswear so it was no surprise to see a plethora of B-town male celebs strut their stuff.

Fashion mixed with Patriotism
The theme of Sanjay Hingu's collection was clearly patriotism. Here's a look at a couple of the pieces; a checkered jacket with a print depicting Gandhi ji on one side and a t-shirt depicting the iconic Dandi march.

Manish Malhotra: Lakme Fashion Week
Closing on Day 2 of the 2010 Lakme Fashion Week was Manish Malhotra presenting his very wearable Bridal Collection. There were certain pieces that bore resemblance to his previous collections but overall I actually quite liked it for its wearability especially some of the suits. I'm sure sooner or later we'll see the celebs donning these.

Priyanka Chopra: What's Your Rashee premiere
For the What's your Rashee premiere at TIFF Priyanka Chopra went traditional (technically I say!) clad in white. The white silver colour combo does suit her and I love the draping of the skirt but the whole excessive mid-riff bearing look with the belly button and the minuscule bandeau kills it for me. I also have a feeling she's wearing Manav Gangwani as it doesn't look like a typical Manish Malhotra saree that she's seen wearin on the rare ocassion she decides to go Indian.

For the fugly files
Day 1 of the Lakme Fashion Week saw a bevy of celebs flocking in to see their fav designers in action. Most dress (or attempt to!) in their chic best or are dressed by the designers' itself whose show they are there to watch. In case of Simone Singh its a bit of a disaster really as this draped toga style mess is doing her no favours what so ever. Here's hoping for a better sighting next time round.

Changing it up
A new hair do (which for the record I don't like much), a strapless fitted black dress minus the usual super short hemline was Priyanka Chopra's look at the Toronto International Film Festival. I quite like the dress as its just refreshing to see PC break away from her usual super short outfits but don't really dig the shoes. Your thoughts?

Matching to the Extreme
Queenie Dhody went an a bit overboard with the head to toe gold matching at the first day of Lakme Fashion Week. There is nothing about this look that I like and Queenie really needs to part with some moolah to hire a stylist asap. I'm sure she's got a closets full of designer duds but surely she needs a bit of help with putting together ensembles.

Lakme Fashion Week kicks off
The '10 Lakme Fashion Week has started and mother daughter designer-due Neeta and Nishka Lulla put together a combined show on Day 1. Mandira Bedi for Satya Paul
There's not been much at the 09 Kolkatta Fashion Week that's impressed me and hence I haven't covered it on my blog. It was no suprise to see Mandira Bedi walk for Satya Paul as she's so fond of the designer's sarees. The saree is ok but the blouse (for the lack of a better word!) I have huge issues with. The criss cross detail I like but the minisculity of the garment just ain't right.

The dress saga continues
We catch Rani sporting another dress; this time a geometric print maxi at a promo event for her upcoming movie ' Dil Hadippa'. The silhouette is great on her but the outfit in itself is stock standard and me definitely don't like the look of that white sandal she's got on.

The Perfect Bride?
Malaika Arora Khan and Amrita Rao along with Shekhar Suman are hosts of a new TV show 'The Perfect Bride'. All will be ok provided the contestants don't look at Amrita for inspiration! I'm at a bit of a loss for words as I can't figure why someone would wear something this bizarre which looks like Indian Barbie gone wrong!
