In sync were Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna at the Bombay Times party, both clad in blue. Loving the eye popping orange pumps that Twinkle teamed with her Missoni dress.

An ode to 'Blue'

The lead star of newly released movie 'Blue' Akshay Kumar and his very fashionable wife Twinkle Khanna chose to dress in blue hues as an ode to the movie perhaps for the premiere at Middle Eastern International Film Festival in Abu Dhabi. Akshay wore a Gucci suit with Versace shoes and Twinkle went traditional in a simple but stylish saree by Laila Motwani. I can't say enough on how much I love this woman's fashion sense and wish she would make a return to the big screen.

Akki blings it up in an embellished grey pullover teamed with matching shoes at the 'Kambhakt Ishq' success bash. Wifey Twinkle opted for her fail safe mantra of hair swept to the side, a sheath dress teamed with a clutch. Purple looks fantastic on her and like her choice of neutral accessories. Obsessed with McQueen

Akshay Kumar sure is obsessed with the Alexander McQueen skull scarf. On the promo stills of 'Kambhakt Ishq' you can catch him wearing the scarf in beige and purple. I'm going to watch the movie tomorrow and sure can't wait! So look out for more posts covering more on the fab clothes the lead pair in the film are wearing. Back to the McQueen scarf; the scarf in the very same colour combo has also been seen on Karan Johar before and Akki owns the same in purple and fuschia which you can check out here and here.

Shoe spotting

Both Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor decided to go dressed-up casual in their newest jeans at the Kambhakt Ishq press meet. Akshay brought out his Louis loafers again that he teamed with a tropical print tee and a buttoned down shirt. Kareena embraced that latest ripped jeans trend and dressed them up with a pair of patent Yves Saint Laurent obi sandals. We also see Akshay sporting a newer do with longer hair which it was about time for.

On a different note its also great to see that the multiplexes and film producers have reached a compromise meaning that movies will be back on the big screen from 12 June. Needless to say I can't wait for Kambhakt Ishq :)

Going traditional for Padma Shri

Very aptly Aishwarya Rai Bachchan opted for a saree to receive her Padma Shri along with fellow actor Akshay Kumar from President Pratibha Patil at the Rashtrapati Bhavan last night. She rocks a saree, absolutely but I wonder if the magenta and gold combo was a bit too garrish for an event like this. Nevertheless congratuations on the award Aishwarya. Great to see the entire Bachchan family come out in support.

As a brand ambassador for Levi's it was no surprise to see Akshay Kumar sauntering on to the runway at the Tarun Tahiliani for Levi's show. Don't know if the unbuttoning of the jeans was necessary but how very cute of Akki to walk up to wifey Twinkle Khanna to do the honours!

McQueen spotting

After Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar seems to have taken a fancy to the Alexander McQueen skull scarf. While Akshay seems to hold the collection in a bright colour pallette; Karan has gone for a muted beige and black combo.

On an aside, I wonder if Arjun Rampal and Karan Johar's colour coordination is a coincidence with the white chinos and the colour scheme of Arjun's shirt in sync with the McQueen scarf.

Singer Kylie Minogue makes her first appearance in Mumbai post landing at a luncheon hosted by Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna at their residence.

I'm loving Kylie's gladiators (but then again I have a thing for glads). Twinkle's necklace is truly fantastic, I love her choice of interesting accessories which aren't overtly branded. Having said that though we sure can't stop feeling envious of the gigantic Hermes Birkin she's carrying.

Also, wondering whether its a conincidence or intentational that Akki's sunny yellow loafers match Twinkle's jewel toned blouse? Nevertheless no man can carry off a white shirt and classic denims as well as he does. Yum yum yummy!

I'm not a big fan of tartan but Twinkle Khanna so rocks this one shouldered red and black tartan number. The fit is perfect on her and I'm loving Akshay Kumar's suit jacket as well. Truly the reigning fashion couple of Bollywood. Source

Finally Deepika Padukone gets it right at the Toronto premiere of Chandni Chowk to China in a black and gold Shantanu and Nikhil lehenga. Practice does make one perfect - the lehenga has already had a trial run last year when Deepika hosted India Day celebrations in the US.

Chandni Chowk to California

Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone kick off the Chandni Chowk to Chine premiere junket with a special film screening at the Warner Bros. Studio in California. Akki is my favourite male fashionista and I'm a bit disappointed with his choice as the white suit is reminiscent of 80s cinema with Jitender in the lead! The shoes are ok. Deepika seems to be wearing a stock standard Manish Malhotra saree but the blouse is absolutely hideous. Twinkle Khanna looks radiant in a powder pink saree which is a refreshing change from her trademark tiered dresses so I'm willing to overlook the mismatched oversized clutch she's teamed with the saree. Hopefully we'll get to see the flick's lead pair up the ante in the style stakes over the rest of the tour.

Eshtylish in denim
