Update - Turns out Freida Pinto was wearing a Stella McCartney dress from the designer's latest Resort collection. Thanks Red Carpet Fashion Awards for the 'ID'. The clutch is by McCartney as well and the sandals are by Jimmy Choo.

Freida Pinto and Dev Patel made an appearance at the 'Film4 Summer Screen' at Somerset House in London to talk about what else but 'Slumdog Millionaire'! Freida opted for a little black dress that she teamed with a gold cuff and an embellished matching gold clutch and sandals. The outfit is fine, but I'm not loving the hair. Dev went for black too with a touch of white, I somehow can't bring myself to like it though. Your thoughts on the couple's style statement?

IFW'09: Ashima & Leena

After Falguni and Shane Peacock, designer duo Ashima and Leena presented a kiddies line at IFW'09 and the stars of the show were none other than Slumdog Millionaire's child actors Rubina Ali and Azharuddin. Loving Rubina's catwalk poses, Azharuddin's confidence and how cute the two look together!

Freida Pinto wore a royal blue one sleeved John Galliano gown which was seen in a sheer version on the runway in the designer's Spring 09 RTW collection. Her sandals which can't be seen in the pic are by Jimmy Choo as reported via Just Jared. I love the blue and the asymeetrical one shouldered design (for those of you who read my blog regularly would know I'm a bit biased to this style ;) ).

Dev ofcourse looked dapper in a tuxedo and so did the rest of the men.

I've also posted a pic of the kiddies from the film who looked super cute and were very excited to be on the red carpet.

Here's wishing the film wins all the accolades that its worthy of.

In Oscar de la Renta

It's the start of another working week for me here in Melbourne but ofcourse before rushing to my Monday morning meetings I couldn't resist checking out if the BAFTA pics had made it to the world wide web and they have!

Turns out that Oscar de la Renta wasn't the choice for the Oscars (or perhaps it is as she picked up a couple of outfits at the De La Renta offices in Manhattan) as Freida Pinto wore a scrumptious pink gown from the designer's 09 Resort collection to the BAFTAs in London. I love the colour on her but hair seems a bit dowdy.Like the necklace though.

Although the post is about Freida I couldn't resist posting a pic of her and Dev as I find him so cute ;)

It's back to work for me now :(

Shopping for the Oscars at H&M?

Spotted Freida Pinto with stylist George Kotsiopolous in tow shopping at chain store H&M in Los Angeles. Let's hope its not outifts for the Oscars considering every haute couture designer under the sun wants to dress this media darling of the moment.

I love the fact though that she's mixing her free designer frocks with chain store buys. Can't wait to see her in her H&M buys so that mere mortals like us can buy the very same pieces (i.e if we like what we see). Also liking her in the casual LA signature uniform of a bomber jacket, skinny jeans and her signature peep toe killer heels. source

Update - Turns out Freida's dress at the DGA Awards is a Zac Posen from the Spring 09 RTW collection. Thanks Fashion Critic for ID'ing. Here are the first few pics that have come through of Freida Pinto and Dev Patel on the red carpet at the 61st Annual Directors Guild of America Awards. I love love love her dress and its oh so cute how Dev has matched the colour of his bow tie with Freida's dress.

The dress looks like an Elie Saab.

Slumdog cast at 09 SAG awards

The Slumdog cast (Freida Pinto, Dev Patel and Anil Kapoor) came out dressed in their finest at the 09 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Here's a dekho, I'm ofcourse drooling over Freida's light purple gown!The minute I saw this gown knew it was a signature Marchesa which has now been confirmed by justjared who report that the gown is indeed by Marchesa, her clutch is by Roger Vivier and jewels by Martin Katz.

On reader request - Preity's look at Slumdog premiere

One of my regular readers has requested that I do a post on Preity Zinta's look at the Slumdog premiere in Mumbai. So here we go..

The outfit certainly adheres to the dress code which I assume was black tie as there were lots of sightings in the traditional black tie colours of black and white. It fits her well and she carries it with aplomb like everything else; but I do think she went a tad too conservative as well. Your thoughts?

After Saif and Kareena, it's Hrithik and Suzanne Roshan's turn to step out in matchy matchy outfits with their black jackets and jeans at the Slumdog premiere. Personally I'm not a bit fan of coordinating outfits with my partner but each to his own I guess.

Freida Pinto in Christian Lacroix at the Globes

Another update! Slumdog also wins best picture and Danny Boyle takes home the best director award. Truly well deserved

Update! Two awards in the kitty already for Slumdog Millionaire - Simon Beaufoy for best screenplay and Rahman gets one too for best soundtrack - he's the first Indian to get one, I'm ecstatic!!!

Freida Pinto opted for a haute couture Christian Lacroix golden gown and to wear to the 09 Golden Globes. I love the colour of the gown and the ethnic Indian cuffs and earrings but overall the gown isn't working as there is a bit too much draping especially around the neckline.

Glad to see Dev Patel ditch the cardigan for a nice suit and Anil Kapoor is looking nice in a tux as well. Here's wishing the movie wins all the awards that its worthy of, especially A R Rahman for the soundtrack.

Here's a look at Freida Pinto and Dev Patel at the Bafta awards tea party in Beverley Hills. All her outfits so far on the tour have had some form of draping and yes she's wearing another pair of peep-toes. I'm loving the clutch - does anyone know who it's by? Looks like a Roberto Cavalli but not sure.
