Feroz Khan succumbs to Cancer

Style icon and director of cult movies such as Qurbani and Jaanbaaz, Feroz Khan passed away this morning at his Bangalore farmhouse.

Deepest condolences to his family. He'll surely be missed by his family and fans.

Looks like Vogue US and India joined hands to capitalise on Lakshmi Menon's presence in India to shoot for both magazines together. Whilst she appeared as cover girl for the May issue of Vogue India, Lakshmi also shot for a spread for US Vogue in her hometown of Goa where she posed wearing Spring creations of YSL, Chloe, Alexander McQueen and Carolina Herrera to name a few. Oddly thrown in amongst the designer threads was a very budget friendly dress by Kate Moss for Topshop (costing about 50 pounds) which is no longer available for sale but I've presented a similar styled dress below.

Vogue India's latest cover girl: Lakshmi Menon

Check out the latest cover of Vogue India graced by supermodel Lakshmi Menon wearing a chiffon wrap blouse and ruched chiffon shrug by Ann Demulemeester. The pieces are from the designer's Spring Summer 09 range but were not featured on the runway.

On the inside spread Lakshmi is resplendant in creations of some of the top Indian designers. Will post on those as soon as I have some photos

Blinging up cricket

The new glamour face of IPL, Shilpa Shetty puts her spin on dressing for cricket on the cover of Living magazine - teaming her teams Rajasthan Royals' t-shirt with a rossette corset and sequined pads.

Refereshing to see PZ don a saree which no points for guessing is a typical Manish Malhotra. Couldn't find a full length pic but how fantastic does her skin look in the close-up and those emerald earrings are a winner all the way!

Wrong on all levels

If it was up to me I would only post on fab fashion as who doesn't love great fashion! Unfortunately most recent B-town sightings have been disappointing and Mallika Sherawat certainly takes the cake. In honour of a milkshake named after her at 'Millions of Milkshakes' in West Hollywood, Mallika chose to wear...well next to nothing with an Indian touch! Many of you would recall similar outfits (the use of word outfit here is questionable) she wore while promoting her unforgettable film (what was it called again?) with Jackie Chan a couple of years ago.

Back to this debacle which is so wrong on absolutely every level. We know you have a great body Mallika but I didn't think an exposure to this level is required. PG recommended before viewing the pics below.

A Gucci knock-off?

The latest Filmfare cover I love, Deepika's look at the issue unveiling event not so much! My first thoughts as soon as I saw the pictures was the similarity of her dress's print with the Gucci blue and white flora print that featured so heavily in the Design House's Resort 07 collection. Wonder if it is a Gucci knock-off that Deepika is wearing or perhaps another designer has been heavily inspired by Gucci ;)

In Manish Malhotra

This lass has definitely traded designer camps. Never to be seen in anything else but Tarun Tahiliani when it came to ethnic ensembles all her recent traditional clothes come from the stables of Manish Malhotra. So it came as no surprise to see Shilpa Shetty wear a Manish Arora lehenga in her IPL team 'Rajasthan Royals' music video. The lehenga isn't a straight off the runway but a mish mash of a few different pieces showcased at India Couture Week.

Anoushka Shankar in Verve

The April issue of Verve magazine features Anoushka Shankar. In the inside spread she wears a Tarun Tahiliani dress which has previously been seen on model Nina Manuel.

On the cover Anoushka wears a Gauri Nainika maxi which has been covered by pinkvilla.

Again!

As if the first time round wasn't bad enough Divya Dutta decides to not part with this satin nightie style dress and wore it again at a brunch recently. The hair fares a little bit better this time as the bangs do suit her.

Desi Barbie and Ken

Bad habits are hard to let go off. Despite their best efforts to channel Barbie and Ken this couple fails miserably. Not once but twice in the same week we see Divya Khosla and hubby Bhushan Kumar dressed in hideous versions of Barbie and Ken like attires. Can it really get any worse than this? With all the moolah surely hiring a stylist can't be hard. Hope they are listening for their own sake!

When in doubt go for black

At Tarun Mansukhani's birthday party, Bipasha Basu and Priyanka Chopra both posted appearances dressed in black with a touch a silver. Bipasha wore an asymmetrical one shouldered dress with a corsage teaming the dress with a matching black and silver grey clutch. Priyanka (with usual bad hair) went for a wrap style black dress with a singlet underneath and a black clutch. She added a bit of bling to her outfit with a dark silver sequined scarf. Wish she cuts her into the bob that we saw her sporting for the Grazia shoot.

Priyanka Chopra graces the cover of this month's Grazia India which also happens to the first year anniversary of the magazine. She wears a Manish Arora gown from the designer's Spring 09 collection that was presented in Paris last year. May I just say what a fab cover! Priyanka totally rocks the ensemble which is so perfect for editorial. Loving the shorter and sleeker hairdo too!

Of tie-up sandals

Whilst Malaika Arora Khan wore her's in braided gold, Isha Koppikar teamed her LBD with silver tie-up sandals (best not to talk about her tacky black bag!). Isha definitely fails to impress and if I have to compare the two I do prefer the version Malaika's got on although I'm not totally digging those either. Your thoughts?

Update - It is indeed a Tarun Tahiliani that Genelia wore to the Pantaloons Femina Miss India 09 pageant and not Ritu Kumar as I initially thought. Thanks 'anonymous' for the ID. I still mantain that the belt isn't required but does add a bit of intrigue; the model definitely wears it better snug than how it sits a tad bit loose on Genelia.

Tarun Tahiliani Spring 09

I love the sari, the colour and the mandarin collar style halter blouse but Genelia D'Souza kinda wrecks it with the leather belt. Some points you get Genelia for trying to be experimental but surely looking at the mirror should have made you realise that it ain't working and the belt needs to be ditched. I also have a feeling she's wearing Ritu Kumar.

The Shetty sisters

For a visit to the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Shilpa Shetty and Shamita Shetty went demure in their best comfy suits teamed with a Hermes Birkin and a Fendi Spy respectively. Shilpa opted for a sunny yellow churidaar which I really like on her and Shamita went for a pink and white patiala salwaar suit. Have a favourite between the two?

Asin for Big Bazaar

Asin has been announced the brand ambassador for 'Big Bazaar' took to the runway wearing a creation from the chain store. I like the simplicity of the dress and if you like it the great thing is that its going to be available for sale at a Big Bazaar near you without the hefty price tag associated with designer threads.
