Deepika again
Its seems like the only celeb that I've been covering the entire week is Deepika Padukone! Here's another one; I absolutely love this cute tunic teamed with leggings (not churidaar as I previously stated, thanks Monika) that she wore to the 'Love Aaj Kal' music launch. Summer perfect! Think its a Rina Dhaka creation as the print is very similar to a dress showcased in Rina's latest collection.

The long and the short of it
At the IIFAs we saw Sushmita Sen step out in a black Roberto Cavalli cut-out gown. Blake Lively was seen sporting a shorter version of the same in white at the 'Swarovski Crystallized' concept store opening. Think the shorter version is very age appropriate for Blake and she looks absolutely fantastic! But then again its a rarity to see this gal err when it comes to fashion.

In Raakesh Agarvwal
Lakshmi Menon wore this Raakesh Agarvwal jumsuit in citus orange in the May edition of Vogue India and now Deepika Padukone rocks it in dusty pink at a Tissot event in Hyderabad. I think both ladies work this tricky garment with elan. The Vogue shot is fantastically taken and Deepika does complete justice to it in real life.

Keeping it in circulation
Just like us our fav celebs also have things in their wardrobe that they are partial too. Katrina Kaif choose the same purple ruffled dress and the same black pumps for her appearance at the Lux Comedy Awards that she wore a couple of weeks ago to the Audi launch.

Cover Wars in Dolce Gabbana
Looks like the press pack is still doing the rounds with the same Dolce Gabbana now making it way on the July cover of Vogue India with Deepika Padukone as the cover girl. The same has been seen before on Diana Plenty on the Feb issue of L'Officiel. Who do you think works the spring number better?

The chappals....
Update - Thanks 'H' for the bag ID. Kareena is carrying a Gucci Hysteria Tapestry tote.
To brave the scorching Dilli heat loved up couple Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan stepped out in comfy casual wear. Kareena in her strapless maxi, pulled up hair and sunglasses looked oh so fine to me till I looked at that hideous chappal peeking through. I mean seriously!!! Whilst I'm all for celebs dressing down and give mere mortals like us the confidence that we don't look so bad either; footwear like this in public or even at home is a big NO no.

Fringing it up
Spotted Mallika Sherawat in a purple fringed flapper style dress on Salman Khan's TV show 'Dus ka Dum'. If you like the dress you can grab the same at Unique Vintage for USD$72. As for me personally the tiering combined with the fringing is a tad bit too much, but then again I don't have Ms. Sherawat's body either :p

Throwing in a bit of Hindi
The obsession with all things Indian grows and its a trend fast catching on with designers. After Sir Alistair Rai, I spot the latest collection from Ports 1961 where the garment names have Hindi thrown in just for the heck of it. Don't believe me, check out the ensembles below and try making a connection! The only one that has a mild dose of logic is the one shouldered sheath with the resemblance being to the draping of the sari. The designer also looked to be in a bit of a hurry as forgot spell check and spelt "Angarakha" as "Angarkha".

Elegance personified
As part of her Longines Ambassador of Elegance duties, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made an appearance at the Royal Ascot races in a understated dress paired with a matching jacket by Armani and the requisite statement hat by designer IIda Di-Vico.
For the evening gala dinner Aishwarya wore a velvet sleeveless gown with an embellished panel which wasn't a great look.

Paying a tribute
Spotted Prateek Babbar (Smita Patil's son and of Jaane Tu Jaane Na fame) wearing the 'Batman Joker T-shirt' at the 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' premiere in Mumbai. You can buy the tee at a bargain price of USD$15 at superherostuff.

Feeling stripey
Next in line after Sushmita Sen to don a stripey ensemble is Kareena Kapoor at the Kambhakt Ishq press conference. Whislt whatever I can see of the outfit doesn't look quite as bad as what Sushmita wore, I still can't bring myself to like it. The multi colour and the bold and the thin stripey combo just doesnt' do it for me. Your thoughts?

In Roberto Cavalli
Sushmita Sen ditched the kaftans and went for a long sleeved cut-out Roberto Cavalli gown for the IIFA Awards night. Sushmita wore a slightly altered version of the runway version with a net overlay on the cut-outs. Like the model I think the gown would've worked better if Sushmita would've injected a bit of colour by choosing her footwear in a different colour. Think the net wasn't required either.
Grecian goddess
Sonam Kapoor as usual stands apart from the rest of the B'town brigade in this toga inspired dress that she teams with flat gladiator sandals and kundan jewellery on the IIFA Awards night. I love the fact that the dress looks so glam but comfortable at the same time. She obviously has a thing for asymmetrical one shouldered numbers as the black dress that she wore the day before and the Chanel she wore to the Filmfares had the same cut. Infact the hair on all three ocassions has been the same.

In Gauri-Nainika
Bipasha Basu wore a Gauri-Nainika blue gown to the IIFAs. It's definitely not one of my favourites from the green carpet, what about you?
source
In Manav Gangwani
Singer Peter Andre who was performing at the IIFA Awards opted to go traditional with a Manav Gangwani sherwani. He wore the look as it was worn on the runway last year by Rahul Khanna at the India Couture Week.
The other celeb at the event to don Manav Gangwani was Lara Dutta who wore a gold saree accessoried with emerald jewels.

Keeping it simple
The junior Bachchans - Abhishek and Aishwarya kept it simple on the IIFA green carpet and make it work them.

In Rick Roy
According to the grapevine Kangana Ranaut is designer Rick Roy's latest muse and here's the what she wore made out of a shipload of swarovski crystals on 250 meters of pink fabric! I'll let you make the call on what you think of this couture piece.

In Manish Malhotra
Priyanka Chopra opts for a Manish Malhotra saree to grace the IIFA Awards red carpet. You can catch her wearing more of Manish's creations here.

Same same
Sophie Chaudhary opted for the same pink lace saree for one of her IIFA appearances that we have already seen Katrina Kaif don for Amrita Arora's wedding. Which of the two ladies carry it off better than the other?

Chic in Black & Gold
Of all the celebs who walked the runway at the IIFA Fashion Extravaganza, Sonam Kapoor wearing Anamika Khanna was my favourite. Off the runway Sonam kept it chic in an asymmetrical black dress accessoried with a statement gold necklace and a cuff. I am not totally sold on her choice of footwear but overall it was a great look for her.

Zebra stripes gone wrong
And here's another questionable outfit that we see on Sushmita Sen at the 'Do not Disturb' press conference. The former Miss Universe really should hire a stylist now!

Dia Mirza for Manav Gangwani
Dia Mirza walked for Manav Gangwani at the IIFA Fashion Show in a cream ensemble. Dino Morea also walked for Manav - will update the post with pictures as I get some.

From fab to scary
Sushmita Sen's clearly got a theme going and has packed a suitcase full of kaftans and kimonos for the IIFA weekend. Whilst the leopard print version that she wore on day 1 of the festivities did total justice to her diva like stature but she's taken quite a tumble since then on Day 2. Honeslty what the hell was she thinking with this red and black monster! Hubby felt obliged to walk over and look at the computer screen when he saw the shock on my face and in a jiffy pointed out that Sush's inspiration was "Orco" who now thanks to Sush has debuted on my blog!
Man candy
Abhishek is on a roll and I can't tell you how pleased I am to see him looking so dapper! I couldn't find a length shot but totally loving what I see. I think its a first for me and Abhi when I can't fault anything. Hair looks great, right amount of facial hair and a fantastic three piece suit makes this appearance of his a winner all the way.

Bipasha Basu for Rocky S
In addition to Sonam Kapoor, The IIFA fashion extravaganza also saw Bipasha Basu take to the runway for designer Rocky S. If I had to choose between the two, I prefer Sonam's outfit and stylin over Bipasha's. Who gets your vote?
More of Aishwarya in Verve
Here's a dekho at the inside spread from this month's Verve, where Aishwarya poses in a few of designer Shahab Durazi's gowns. Do you have a favourite amongst the three looks?

Sonam Kapoor for Anamika Khanna
She's walked and worn the designer many a times before so it was no surprise to see Sonam Kapoor take to the runway at the IIFA'09 Fashion Extravaganza wearing an Anamika Khanna creation. In typical Anamika style the garment was a twist on the traditional lehenga, the blouse puffed out with Balmain-sque sleeves and the skirt featuring lace underskirts and a shortened hem at the front complete with a gold belt. The creation was also showcased at the 09 Lakme Fashion Week that of course Sonam Kapoor attended front row.

Buy one get one free?
Take it they are a couple much in love with their matchy matchy Ed Hardy tees?
Lack lusture
After wowing us in Cannes, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan disappoints on Day 1 of the IIFA'09 weekend in Macau in a dated prom like age inappropriate (I can go on and on...) frock in a colour which isn't flattering her skin tone one bit. Hubby Abhishek surprisingly gets it right this time by keeping it simple by sticking to a well fitted classic suit.

Matching to the extreme
Fashion tip of the day especially for Ms. Tandon - Just to prove to the world that you are obsessed with a colour, it is not a requisite to don it head to toe.
